How long do I have to take off work?

Frequently Asked Question

The vast majority of patients can return to work the next day. However, one one must understand their physical limitations.

They need to take into account their job requirements in terms of time spent standing and walking. If your job requires you to do heavy lifting and to walk all day long, it will take several weeks before you can go back.

If you have a desk job, you can return to work immediately. Once you have your grey boot on, you can walk 20 minutes an hour. This time is then increased 10 minutes an hour per week.

You must understand that if your job requires you to stand more than 30 minutes an hour, you will need to modify your work or not return to work until after you've had the walking boot on for one week, or ten days after the surgery.
